Summary

1. The Cost Activity Schedule was discussed with emphasis on the upcoming “Physical” Meeting for the US ITER-TBM team that will be held December 12-14 (noon), 2005 at UCLA. The Activity completion date is still March 28, 2005 which is the planned date for an External Review of the Final Costing Activity Report.

3. The Evaluation questionnaire for TBM R&D tasks and subtasks sent out by Neil Morley on November 3, 2005 was discussed and a status of submitted questionnaires provided.

Questionnaires Submitted:

Merrill - on both the Tritium Permeation, and the PbLi/Water reaction
Smolentsev - on the MHD subtasks
Pint - on the SiC/PbLi compatibility and Tritium Permeation
Zinkle - on all main topics
Wong - on He subcomponents

Questionnaires due by Wednesday, November 16, 2005:

Willms - on tritium systems
Katoh - on SIC fabrications
Rowcliffe/Kurtz - on fabrication and materials
Tanaka - on partially integrated testing
Ulrickson - on FS/Be bonding

The next Cost Activity conference call will be at Noon PST, on Thursday, November 17, 2005.

All R&D Evaluation Questionaires should be submitted to Neil by Wednesday, November 16, 2005 so that they can be summarized and discussed during the Thursday Conference Call.

4. Guidelines for Assembling the Cost Estimate, Schedule and Risks for the US TBM Cost Activity were discussed. Tom Mann will distribute the guidelines on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. The approach for implementing the guidelines will be for the subgroup of Mann, Tourville, Morley and Wong to reformat the current cost/schedule data into the format. Subtask packages will be distributed to the contributors/cost estimators for review. These packages and associated presentation formats will be a main topic for the subgroup meetings on December 12, 2005.
